Biography
 "Ever since I was a youngster, I have been drawing, or trying to draw aircraft. I remember cycling home from the Biggin Hill Air Fair, and trying to draw the aeroplanes I had just seen.
After leaving school, I was lucky to get a job in a commercial illustration studio. Starting as a junior on £12.30 per week, I have made my career in illustration, turning freelance about 25 years ago.
Along the way I have worked for a wide range of clients including Rolex, British Airways, Thomas Cook, Benson and Hedges and many more.
Over the years my spare time has often been filled with drawing or doodling the usual suspects; Spitfires, Messerschmitt, Heinkels, Hurricanes and Lancasters. Many friends have suggested I concentrate more on my aviation art interest.
So in November 2002 I joined the Guild of Aviation Artists. I had known of the Guild for some time and had been to their exhibitions. I entered four pictures into the Annual Exhibition in 2003 myself, and was honoured and thrilled to be awarded ‘The Aviation Painting of the Year’ award for “Sunlit Silence” and ‘The Arthur Gibson Memorial Trophy’ for the best newcomer to the Guild. I received the awards from HRH Prince Andrew at the opening of the exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London. It was quite a day!
I have subsequently started t accept commissions and am planning to publish two Limited Edition Prints. These I hop e will be co-signed with the subject of the painting.
Having this close association with our veterans is something I have longed to do for sometime, for two good reasons. Firstly to show an appreciation to those men who flew and fought for what they thought was right, and also to help record their actions as accurately and attractively as I can, for others to maybe understand in time to come.
